Mattia Binotto Is A New Team Principal Of Ferrari

“Former technical boss Mattia Binotto is a new team principal of Ferrari, after replacing Maurizio Arrivabene.”

Ferrari president John Elkann has decided that Mattia Binotto is the right man to lead the Italian stable in 2019.

Binotto takes immediate charge of the team. And according to Ferrari, “All technical areas will report directly to him.”

Before Binotto, Arrivabene was on this role for four years. He had been boss of the team since December 2014 and before this, he was the vice president of the tobacco giant Philip Morris. During his reign, Ferrari failed to break Mercedes' stranglehold on the F1 title. However, the team enjoyed a revival in competitiveness in the last two seasons.

Mattia Binotto

He was born on 3rd November 1969 in Lausanne, Switzerland. He did his masters from Motor Vehicle Engineering in Modena.

Mattia’s Timeline:

• Binotto joined the Scuderia Ferrari test team as a Test Engine Engineer in 1995. 

• He stayed at the same role with the race team from 1997 to 2003. 

• In 2003, he became a Race engine engineer, took on the role of Chief Engineer in 2007 and Head of Engine and KERS Operations in 2009. As a head of the power unit, Binotto helped Ferrari recover from its disastrous start to the V6 turbo era and close the gap to Mercedes in terms of engine power. 

• In 2013, he was Deputy Director of Engine and Electronics when he subsequently took on the role of Chief Operating Officer, Power Unit. 

• Appointed as Chief Technical Officer of Scuderia Ferrari on July 27, 2016. 

• And now in 2019, he is a new team Principal of Ferrari. He is appointed as Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow Team Principal on 7th Jan 2019.

Sepp Manhalter – The Austrian car racer has been a champion in the 1970s and 1980s. He has participated in approx. 19 car races. He has always been a BMW man and held his own as a private competitor in the Procar series against the stars. His highlight was a seventh-place finish in Zolder in 1979.

Mark Kislowski – Mark Kislowski claimed his first modified career win at Albany Saratoga Speedway. Kislowski had a handful of wins in the Sportsman division but this was his first in the premier division.

David Pearson – Pearson began his NASCAR car racing in 1960. He currently holds the second position on NASCAR win list by winning 105 races and achieving 113 pole positions. He was named as ‘fox’ for his calculated approach to racing.

Mark Kislowski Claims His First Modified Career Win at Albany Saratoga Speedway

Malta, NY — The past two outings at Albany Saratoga Speedway produced a second and third place run for Modified driver Mark Kislowski. Only one way to go now and Kislowski did just that — picking up his first career Modified win. And better yet — he did it on a night when his sponsor, Morris Auto Group, was sponsoring the 35-lap event.

As in past weeks, Kislowski was fast out of the trailer tonight winning the first of three qualifying events. He had a great view for the start of the feature event sitting on the front row. Kislowski went right into the race lead and never looked back despite 12 time point champion, Kenny Tremont, being all over the backend of his racecar .

Kislowski has a handful of wins in the Sportsman division but this was his first in the premier division. Unfortunately due to a caution plagued night and the speedways curfew victory lane celebrations didn’t happen on the race surface because of the time constraints.

Tremont, started the race from outside the fourth row and he let everyone know he was one to reckon with from the drop of the green flag. He secured the third spot on lap seven from Jeremy Wilder and then started after Kislowski.
